Barlaston Hall Estate In Staffordshire Styled Shoot
After weeks of planning, my vision finally came to life, and I couldn’t be happier!
On Friday 21st April, an amazing team of wedding suppliers came together to create a beautiful airy, ethereal inspired styled shoot, at one of Staffordshire’s most beautiful & history rich English Country Houses, Barlaston Hall.
Every detail in the shoot was carefully considered to ensure that they all complimented each other, from the cake & stationary sharing the same textural detailing, to the jewellery and suits sharing the same colour palette.
When finding wedding suppliers to be involved in this shoot, I knew it was important to include suppliers that would complement each other! Some of the suppliers I had already worked with in the past and knew & trusted them and some I had never met before, but I knew of their incredible work and wanted them to be a part of the shoot! A few of the suppliers, responded to a supplier call that I put out and although I had not heard of them before, I’m so grateful that they reached out to me, as everyone’s contribution to the shoot was epic!
The Front Door
Barlaston Hall’s front door is one of the many beautiful architectural details of the building and it’s the first thing that struck me when I first saw the Hall for myself. From its beautiful sweeping stone steps to its eye-catching sage green hexagon detailed double doors.
So, I knew I wanted to create a beautiful design around the door & up the steps to highlight these features.

The Grand Staircase
Barlaston Hall’s main staircase is truly stunning, mixing the old and the new in such an amazing way! The staircase itself is centred in the middle of the house with no windows facing onto it, except for a beautiful circular sky window position directly above it. This allowed us to create shots that had a sumptuous, moody vibe, that gave a feeling of luxury and opulence… Which I think you will agree, are stunning!

St Johns Church
St John’s is a beautiful 12th century church, that is situated next door to Barlaston Hall. The church is now deconsecrated and can be used for various events, such as naming ceremonies, dining events and even yoga! When I saw the church, I knew I wanted to create a ceremony setup for the shoot in there, as it has beautiful architecture and gorgeous little quirks, that tell a story of its history, which I loved!

The Dining Room
Last but not least on my list of must have shots, was the dining room! Its high ceilings, incredible bay windows and ornate wall mouldings, were just some of the reasons, why I loved this room! We were able to create a beautiful, light & airy table scape, with pops of baby blue, that beautifully suited the style of the shoot and Barlaston Hall itself.

THE FLOWERS
The flowers were carefully selected to create a fresh, abundant & ethereal vibe, which suited both the style of the shoot, the spring season & the décor of Barlaston Hall.
Each shot included floral designs that we were repurposed in multiple locations across Hall, very much like what happens on a real wedding day! This is something that I strongly recommend to all my wedding couples when planning their wedding florals, as it’s a fantastic way to maximise the use of all your flowers, as well as minimising waste!
The colour palette was largely inspired by the springtime, whilst ensuring that some of the tones used also complimented the colour in the dining room, as well as the rich browns of the wood in the internal staircase. I settled for a palette of white, cream, pink & a hint soft nude.
The floral variety was again inspired by the season and to compliment the English Country House. We used a variety of Roses, Garden Roses, Carnations & Ranunculus to give the arrangements lots of interest. We also included flowers such as Butterfly Ranunculus, Delphinium & Sweet peas to add dimension and movement. Achillea, Gypsophilia and beautiful Pittosporum Nevato foliage added lots of texture and depth to the arrangements.
Massive thanks to the amazing team of suppliers that were involved in creating this beautiful shoot and who worked so hard on the day to ensure everything went so smoothly! It was an absolute pleasure to work with you all!
